Over 4,000 actors, professional company representatives, design and technical professionals, theatre educators, students from universities and high schools, commercial exhibitors, university representatives, community theatre producers and participants – those who practice theatre as a vocation and those who hold it as their avocation – will gather for The Nation’s Largest Theatre Convention at the Galt House Hotel, Louisville, KY.

Since 1949, SETC has been hosting an annual convention held each year during the first week of March. This is a theatre convention that HAS IT ALL! Participants can choose from a multitude of events and activities to find their niche or interest.

Vivian knew in sixth grade (thanks, Mr. Maas!) she would work in theatre and by ninth grade (thanks Jerry Whiddon and Craig Babcock!) she had decided to specialize in theatre for young audiences. Much to her parents chagrin, as a senior in high school, she announced that she “wasn’t going to college but was going to get a job in theatre!” And (fortunately) went straight to work for Library Theatre in Washington, DC. Later ‐‐ while teaching elementary school, working toward a degree in Interrelated Arts at the University of Maryland and volunteering at Adventure Theatre in Glen Echo Park ‐‐ she married Larry and shortly thereafter moved to Kentucky. She has worked at LCT almost 40 years in multiple capacities including teacher, designer, stage manager, costumer, production manager, director, and writer / rewriter! She loves her job and the challenges that each new day brings.
